Reading answers is not the same as giving them. Most candidates lose points not because they lack knowledge, but because they have never practised explaining it under pressure. A mock interview closes that gap, and AI makes it available at any hour.

How an AI mock interview works

You choose a target role and level. The system generates relevant questions, you respond by typing or speaking, and it evaluates your answers for clarity, structure and relevance, then suggests improvements. You can try our AI mock interview after signing in.

What to practise

  • Introduction: a 60 to 90 second "Tell me about yourself" that links your background to the role.
  • Technical fundamentals: core concepts for your stack, explained in plain language.
  • Problem solving: talk through your thinking, not just the final answer.
  • Behavioural questions: use the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result).
  • Questions for the interviewer: prepare two or three thoughtful ones.

A simple weekly plan

  1. Monday: Revise fundamentals for your role and note weak spots.
  2. Tuesday and Wednesday: One AI mock session each day. Review the feedback and rewrite weak answers.
  3. Thursday: Practise explaining your projects in two minutes.
  4. Friday: Full mock round with a friend or senior, then reflect.
  5. Weekend: Rest and light revision. Update your resume with anything new.

How to get more from every session

  • Answer aloud, even when typing is allowed. Speaking exposes rambling.
  • Record yourself once a week and watch for filler words and pace.
  • Keep a "stories bank" of five or six real experiences you can adapt to many questions.
  • Do not memorise scripts. Aim for structured, natural answers.

Combine practice with referrals

Preparation and visibility work together. Use referrals to get interviews, then use mock practice to convert them. If you are just starting out, our fresher roadmap shows where to begin.

Frequently asked questions

Can an AI mock interview replace a real one?

No. It is a practice tool that helps you structure answers and build confidence. Combine it with real conversations with peers and mentors.

How many mock interviews should I do?

Most candidates see improvement after five to ten focused sessions with reviewed feedback. Quality of review matters more than the count.

Does it work for HR and behavioural rounds?

Yes. You can rehearse common HR questions and practise structuring stories with STAR, as well as technical questions for your role.
